Some recipes are best kept in the experts kitchen, as much as I love Indian food, I don’t think I would attempt it. Perhaps next time I am out shopping I will check with our many Indian supermarkets as to whether there is something similar we could enjoy, or perhaps they may have some ready made. We have quite a large Indian community here, but like visiting an Asian food store, help is needed when purchasing products as they are so unfamiliar to us. Dosa isn’t something I have ever seen on the menu of any Indian Restaurant we have been to. Thank you for sharing, and I’m sure there will be some out there who will give your recipe a try. 🤗

Ahhhh! Please do explore the dosa they are delicious. If you want to find them in an Indian restaurant you'll need to look for one that serves South Indian or Sri Lankan food. They will often be served with a filling - sometimes potatoes and onions, sometime a paneer, and often with small curries and chutneys to scoop as you eat. If you go to your local Indian/Sri Lankan grocers you can find ready made batter which you add to the pan and fry. ❤️ 🫶🏾

Thank you for your suggestions Ranji, there are two Indian/SriLankan stores just up the road from us so I will check there. I guess Dosa may be similar to Roti or Naan?

I just googled, and found the answer, so your answer would have been No…

Dosa more akin to a pancake rather than bread. I love your curiosity - keep the questions coming.

You're giving me ideas on creating a series a beginners guide to Sri Lankan food!

That would be a great idea. I do cook both Indian and Sri Lankan food, 50/50 with a jar or made from scratch. I definitely have the ingredients in my pantry. But for me and others who are “newbies” to find out what is what, and how to, would be great I’m sure.
